How to Tailgate Like a Diehard Eagles Fan in Philly

Eagles Tailgate

Welcome to South Philly, where the tailgates start early, end late, and leave your voice hoarse before kickoff. Lincoln Financial Field is the centerpiece of one of the most electric tailgating scenes in the NFL—and if you're a Birds fan, it's something you have to do at least once in the Fall.

Where to Tailgate

Jetro Lot: The unofficial epicenter of Eagles tailgating. If you’re grilling, shotgunning, or blasting Meek Mill before 10 a.m., you’re probably doing it here. The Jetro lot is legendary—massive space, a sea of green, and no shortage of E-A-G-L-E-S chants or friendly smack talk.

K Lot / M/N Lots: These are solid options if Jetro fills up. You’ll still get a strong tailgate atmosphere and passionate fans without the full chaos of Jetro. These lots are slightly more relaxed but no less committed.

Xfinity Live!: The Ultimate Pregame Power Move Just across the street from the stadium sits Xfinity Live!, a pregame paradise for fans who want the energy of a tailgate with the comfort of indoor amenities. Picture five bars under one roof, DJs spinning hype tracks, wall-to-wall TVs playing highlights, and a beer selection that never runs dry.

Inside you’ll find:

  • Broad Street Bullies Pub: Old-school Flyers vibes and solid beer selection

  • PBR Philly: Mechanical bull, country energy, loud and rowdy

  • Chickie’s & Pete’s: Home of the iconic crab fries, a Philly staple

  • Victory Beer Hall: Live bands and tons of craft beer

Xfinity is clutch for colder months, postgame drinks, or if you're coming in from out of town and don’t want to lug around gear. It fills up fast, so arrive early.

What to Eat and Drink

Philly tailgating is built on staples:

  • Sausage and pepper hoagies

  • Soft pretzels (the twisty, salty kind from Wawa or a corner stand)

  • Cheesesteaks (home-grilled or delivered)

  • Crab fries from Chickie’s & Pete’s

  • Plenty of Yuengling, Bud heavies, or your local IPA of choice

Pro Tip: If you’re not grilling yourself, food trucks tend to pop up near the Linc for early arrivals. You’ll find pork sandwiches, halal trucks, and the occasional brisket smoker.

Game Day Tips
  • Get there early—gates open around 6 a.m. for 1 p.m. games. The best spots go fast.

  • Wear layers—it gets cold very quickly in Philly.

  • Bring your own speaker—unless you want to tailgate to someone else’s playlist.

  • Not a Birds fan but want to enjoy an NFL Sunday tailgate anyway? Wear Eagles gear— it will just make the entire day go smoother.

Final Word

Tailgating may as well be a mandate on Sundays.  Whether you’re parked in Jetro flipping burgers, rallying with the crowd at Xfinity Live!, or grabbing a last-minute cheesesteak before kickoff, you're part of one of the NFL’s loudest, proudest, and rowdiest game day traditions. Fly Eagles Fly—and tailgate like you mean it.
